Receives SBIR Phase I Grant from the National Science Foundation
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania– December 15,
2003 – Intrigue Technologies, Inc.,
a developer of adaptive imaging sensors and systems,
today announced that it has won a Small Business
Innovation Research (SBIR) Grant from the National
Science Foundation for the project entitled "Reflectance
Sensitive Image Sensor for Illumination-Invariant
Visual Perception". Out of more than 1,700 proposed
projects only 150 projects have received the funding.
The Phase I funding of $100,000 will cover a feasibility
study from January 2004 to June 2004. Upon the completion
of the Phase I program Intrigue will be eligible to
apply for the Phase II grant.
“Attracting financial support from the National Science Foundation is a
validation of the potential of our breakthrough technology,” said Vladimir
Brajovic, President and CEO of Intrigue Technologies. “We are very excited
about this initial funding and look forward to proving our patented technology
in the first commercial image sensor product that will revolutionize capabilities
of vision systems in automotive, surveillance and robotics markets."
